to.cut.or.not.to.cut.

OH MY GOSH I'M THINKING ABOUT CUTTING MY HAIR!!

For those of you who know me know that I've had long hair for all but 6 total years of my 26.5 years of life.

Should I cut it y'all?

Here is what I'm thinking...shoulderish (not short people!)- sassy- bobish- not Posh bobish though- and possibly a lighter hue for summer? My husband likes it long and dark, but I'm not sure either is suiting me well. Why do men love long hair??? I think he wishes I was slightly more exotic. Sorry babe- I'm a white girl.

My hair takes close to 2 hours to wash, dry, style for it to look it's best. I don't have that much time or stinkin energy. It has to be a special day for me to go through all that!

Okay leave me a comment saying "YES" or "NO"!!! Lets be brutally honest people!

this could be history folks...vote NOW!

I say NO!!!! Honestly, if you hair is the only thing of your whole being that you are selfish about keeping than its okay to keep it! The long hair is hot!!

Heather, I'm feeling the same way! I feel like my hair is ridiculously long at this point - a friend measured my pony tail the other day and it alone was 16 inches... I've had long hair most of my life also - except for a few years here and there. And the last 2 years, I've been so busy I haven't cut it at all... Definitely will donate mine to Locks of Love if (when) I cut it.

I have to say the first time I cut it short was the hardest - I have less of an attachment to it now.

You are much more patient than I am - I can't stand to blow dry mine! It takes too long!

I realize I didn't answer your question though... I say go for it. I'll do it if you will... I'll probably do it anyway. :D

heather!!! that is SO weird because I have been feeling the EXACT same way for about a month now. I could literally have written the exact same words (except change the age to 29!).... & i am totally feeling the style you described. So weird! I have brought it up to my friends & they all tell me that it is a lot of work to have short hair, too... & you can't just easily throw it back, etc. I do slightly recall that when I did have shorter hair for a short period of time, however I am thinking I could handle it?! just food for thought. I guess as for "to do" or "not to"... if you have never chopped it all off, I say go for it! It is such a cool feeling & plus, as you know... your hair can always grow back if you choose to. :D oh, & did I forget to mention that you have the most perfect features & would look beautiful in a buzz cut?! that helps too. :D

Heather, the long hair is your style. But if you want a NEW style than just do it, donate it and keep your eyes closed the whole time. And Make someone take photos ;)

I totally think you would be so sassy! Like I have told you though... you are gorgeous either way! Hair "always grows back!" Even though I know it will take a good while :)

GO FOR IT...

I say go for it too! You are gorgeous anyway - I'm sure it will look great!

Still gotta get you to straighten my hair... ;)

Go for it! I had hair past my butt in high school, and got the same response from everyone that they loved it, I should never cut it, yadayada. I cut it anyway and not only was it such a weight off, but my hair looked so healthy and silky it was crazy! I have so much fun choosing new styles and no attachment when my hair gets long now. Donate it, it grows back.

I say YES! Do it! I was hesitant at first too- (I used to have hair to my lower back)- But, I've learned a lot more about myself by changing hair styles. With each different style, you feel different. Sassy bob? Feel Sassy and seductive. Layers? Feel Funky and Fun. It's all about change and renewal! PS: I tend to let my hair grow out in cycles: long enough to donate, then chop it short. It never gets boring :) - Jessica

Hmm...I'm on the fence. I cut off 13 inches for Locks for Love and am GLAD I did it. Now, my hair is MUCH healthier (but if your hair is already healthy....). I am DYING to cut my hair, but want longer hair for the wedding. Sigh. Decisions!

Anyhow, I'm in the camp of "change is good; hair grows back." If you don't want to go totally short, cut 10-12 inches off and see how you feel. Then you haven't lost it all, but still have a change.

ps- TWO HOURS for morning hair routine???? That HAS to go (OK, maybe not, but it wouldn't cut it in my book. I'm into "wash and go.")

:-)

okay well now I see what a dork I sound like talking about my hair!! :)

I'm still sitting on it. I'm starting to think it may be a better idea to do it slowly so that I can get used to the idea.

As of today I think I'll get 4 inches cut and color it so I can have a change :)

CUT IT, BUT DONATE IT TO LOCKS OF LOVE!!! You're always talkin' 'bout SASS so you may as well look the part!

Good luck! I feel for you. My hair has been down to my lower back except for 6 years in elementary school when my mother had control of when I was going to get my hair cut. Sometimes I do wonder what it would be like to have a "style". I definitely do not have the patience to blow it dry every day! Only when I HAVE to! I like the versatility of being able to put it up and have it out of the way, or have it down and have a completely different look. You've probably already had the highlights put in...if you haven't cut it yet, you could try one of those sites where you scan your image and see what you look like with different hairstyles. I'm sure you'll look great no matter what you decide.

You go girl! Give it a new style for the spring. I love it now, but if you are feeling it, have at it. This is the only place in a girls life that I wouldn't say go big or go home! A trim to your shoulders could be hot. Work it like you do!!!!
